Greg Brickl

 Interactive Marketing Manager, Organic Valley

"Semiotx founder Peter Fraterdeus provided a broad range of services to Organic Valley's interactive marketing team between 2002 and 2007, including content development, graphic design/typography, systems administration, application development, database administration, application/technology RFP development, vendor/technology selection, and more.

"We relied heavily on Peter's extensive levels of knowledge and experience in all things interactive, which helped us move our online marketing practices into the 21st century."

Stryder Thompkins
Principal, CTSG:

"Peter's work on our project was thorough and detail oriented, but he always kept the big picture in mind -- it is all about a successful user experience. He was passionate about the purpose of the project and steered the technical aspects expertly. I hope we can work on another project together some day!"

Michael Simmons

Co-Founder and CEO, Extreme Entrepreneurship Education Corp

"Kristine is the kind of web designer we all dream of after we've had a bad experience with another designer.

"Normally, I'm used to many more back-and-forths until I get what I'm looking for. On each project I worked with Kristine on, she came up with extremely high quality work on her first attempt.

"Another thing that I really appreciate about Kristine is that she is really good at design AND CSS. This makes it so that I don't have to hire and manage two separate professionals."

Semantic Strategies

semantic |səˈmantik|

adjective : relating to meaning in language or logic.

strategy |ˈstratəjē|

noun ( pl. -gies) : a plan of action or policy designed to achieve a major or overall aim time to develop a coherent economic strategy shifts in marketing strategy.

When we talk about semantic strategies for brand identity, we are turning the focus away from emotional impacts of color and image, instead highlighting the context and language-based meanings of words.

Even so, words are never isolated in experience, every one is perceived simultaneously by both the intellectual and the emotional intelligence.

A brand like "Apple" : one of the most instantly recognized in the global economy : holds enormous value in its simplicity. The fact that the apple, a fruit, holds a fundamental place in the attention of young children (at least in Euro-US cultures), thereby creating a powerful meme at the origin of language use.

The word "Apple" has nothing at all to do with computers, of course, but the powerful association with a word which is learned (by English speakers) in the first years of life and its connection with sweet, tart, shiny, red – a slew of positive connotations – gives Apple Computers an incredibly valuable 'corner location' in the brand identity game.

Apple Computer, of course, has skillfully built on that 'location', they have created a brand by semantic extension of the subliminal knowledge we all share about apples - friendly, simple, good for you.
